My Wife and Kids is an American television sitcom that aired on ABC from March 28, 2001, to May 17, 2005. The series, produced by Touchstone Television in association with Wayans Bros. Entertainment and Impact Zone, stars Damon Wayans as Michael Kyle, the patriarch of an African-American family.
The plot of the story is a very family-loving drama. A successful businessman, the perfect housewife and three quirky children with all different personalities.
Michael (Damon Wayans) is a great businessman and owns a truck company and has been leading a successful family with the head name “Kyle”. He has a loving and caring wife who makes the best partner for Michael, Jay(Tisha Campbell-Martin) who balances the family and head up with Michael’s quirkiness along with their three children: Claire(Jazz Raycole), the fashionista, Junior (George O. Gore II), the nerd and Kady (Parker McKenna Posey) the mischievous and naughty.
All the family drama with relationships blossoming and the children’s life with every perfect moment, be it their home, workplace or vacations. Every location is picturesque and unique. Michael has his own way of ensuring that his home is traditional, even if it means commanding his household in an immature, unconventional, and self-centered kind of discipline for his family.
My Wife And Kids Series Filming Locations
‘My Wife and Kids’ was filmed almost entirely on location around Los Angeles, and in Walt Disney Studios, with a few of its episodes being lensed in Hawaii and the Bahamas.
While the show’s premise takes place in Connecticut, the real filming sites are in and around Los Angeles. The Kyle family home, located at 500 South Buena Vista Street in Burbank, was made possible by Walt Disney Studios’ facilities.
The studio was used for its varied interiors, which housed the majority of the show’s principal setting, the Kyle home. The exterior shots of their suburban neighborhood were shot surrounding Los Angeles.
LA has been the most suitable production site specially designed for sitcoms due to its various production sets, amazing crew members.
Another wonderful location was the cryptic and scenic islands of the Bahamas, with the crystal clear water and sunset-thrive background, the place was a perfect spot to film the vacation part of the My Wife And Kids series. The Bahamas island location is perfect for a natural background setting of the My Wife And Kids series.
Another famous location was Hawaii, which set a picturesque and jaw-dropping and yet another cinematic background for the sitcom.
