Under the creative direction of Pedro Almodóvar, ‘Strange Way of Life’ is a Spanish western drama film about two hoodlums – Sheriff Jake and Silva, played by Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.

The plot of the story revolves around two distant friends who reunite after 25 years after drifting apart. Silva decides to return to his long-awaited distant friend. He crosses the desert on horseback to reunite with his friend.

On the other hand, Jake, who is the sheriff, gets involved in the case of the murderer of his brother’s wife and searches for the criminal. In the process, Silva surprises Jake and they both have the steamiest moment of their lives, and Silva tells Jake not to sow the seeds of their friendship because Silva wants to take a step forward with Jake.

Here, Jake realizes that the suspect in the killer of his brother’s wife is none other than Silva’s son Joe. Jake doesn’t understand all of this and thinks that Silva has come back to him after 25 years to save his son.

Silva realizes this and asks his son to go to Mexico, but it is too late when Jake arrives there and sets Silva up for betrayal. Jake pulls the trigger on his son, Joe and Silva warn Jake not to kill his son. But Jake moves to kill Joe and is shot by Silva.

Silva goes on to help the injured sheriff and the two recall a previous memory of being alone at the ranch together.

The traditional arid setting of the Western not only makes the narrative more authentic, but also raises issues with the actual locations.
