An ex-UFC middleweight fighter named Elwood Dalton who decides to work at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys as a bouncer. After working there for long enough, he finds out that things are drastically different from what they appear. Under the direction of Doug Liman and inspired by the 1989 nominative film, ‘Road House’ is an action packed thriller with a counter of various talented and renowned actors such as Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor, J. D. Pardo, Arturo Castro, and Billy Magnussen, the movie was released across theaters on March 8 2024.
It was planned that filming would start in the upcoming year.Nick Cassavetes joined the movie the following month, serving as both writer and director.The project was shelved until November 2021, when MGM relaunched it with Doug Liman directing and Jake Gyllenhaal starring.
Despite Gyllenhaal and Liman’s commitments to Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant and Everest, respectively, the studio gave priority to the movie.Chuck Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi’s prior draft was in need of revision, so they started looking for a new writer.

The vibrant metropolis set a great backdrop for the action thriller.Filming began in August 23, 2022, in the Dominican Republic.After the formal weigh-ins for UFC 285 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 3, 2023, Gyllenhaal filmed a scene with former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Jay Hieron.
Play-by-play announcer Jon Anik, UFC president Dana White, and other regular UFC event staff performed the scene in front of spectators who had come to the weigh-ins.During a break in the event, a walkout scene starring Gyllenhaal was recorded. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal also went under physical transformation to play the character in the Road House movie.
PUNTA CANA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Punta Cana, a well-known resort town in the nation’s east, provided the filmmakers with a number of its locales. A major portion of the movie was shot in the region of Las Vegas, specifically the UFC 285 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in March 2023. The Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area is the largest within the greater Mojave Desert, and second-largest in the Southwestern United States which sets a great backdrop for the Road House movie.
The exact location was 3799 South Las Vegas Boulevard and the events surrounding it.
MARATHON, FLORIDA
Another beautiful location was the city of Marathon, which is located in the Florida Keys. The exact location of the filming site was the Old Seven Mile Bridge. The production team utlized the natural glory of Fred the Tree .
