Under the direction of David Benioff, D. B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, and from the papers of Liu Cixin’s Chinese novel, ‘The 3 Body Problem’ traverses sites across the Earth, jumping between different times and dimensions. A fateful decision made in 1960s China reverberates in the present, where a group of scientists partner with a detective to confront an existential planetary threat.
The buddies go on terrifying and unsettling simulations in which they encounter a lifelike simulation that appears to have been produced by extraterrestrial technology, while the story takes us to global events. As one watches the cosmic horror and philosophical turmoil play out, they might start to wonder about the unique locales that were used to create this enormous performance.
The 3 Body Problem’s story revolves around an Astrophysicist Ye Wenjie who witnessed her father’s horrible execution during the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
Due to her background in science, she was later drafted into the military and transported to a covert radar installation located in a distant area where a group of scientists in the present are forced to confront the biggest threat to humanity as a result of her fatal decision made at the base, which reverberates across time and space.
The 3 Body Problem Series filming locations were based on the UK, New York, Florida, and Spain, but we can also spot additional scenes of Tibet, Hong Kong, China, and Panama at various points in the series. Production for the show began in November 2021, and the first season concluded its first round of filming by mid-2022.

NORTH SURREY, ENGLAND
Shepperton Studios is one of the several locations and studios in England that are used by the show to create sets and visual effects. The building, which is situated on Studios Road in Shepperton, has 14 soundstages and a six-acre backlot.

The capital city of England, was another great shot for the 3 Body Problem Series where the backdrops of the city were perfect to set the visuals of the sci-fi thriller. We can also spot various landmarks which have improved the cinematic shots of the movie which were shot around Piccadilly Circus in the City of Westminster.
SCOTLAND, UK
The vibrant city of Scotland was yet another cinematic backdrop for the 3 Body Problem Series. With its ultimate geographic and historic background with various beautiful landmarks across the city which eloped into beautiful sets for the movie are picturesque in their own way.
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK
Another famous; location was New York City where filming specifically took place at the UN Headquarters on 405 East 45th Street. Situated in Midtown Manhattan, the structure represents the discourse between the world governments in the 3 Body Problem series which gives an alarming effect to the communication between outer space and earth.

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
Jacksonville, which is situated along the St. Johns River in the northeastern portion of the state, serves as the backdrop for a beachfront scene in the 3 Body Problem Series. The exact location seen is Vedra Beach, a posh neighborhood southeast of Jacksonville. Furthermore, Hawthorne, a small town in Alachua County, provides a serene setting for a few sequences in the show. Its small-town location might stand in stark contrast to the show’s global scope, creating a distinctive storytelling environment.
PANAMA
Located in Central America, the location also served a greater purpose due to its chilling visuals which provided good quality of diverse landscapes, rainforests revolving around the city. Famous for its braces and pacific coasts the country also offered huge and diverse islands for the shooting. In the capital, Panama City, modern skyscrapers, casinos and nightclubs contrast with colonial buildings in the Casco Viejo district and the rainforest of Natural Metropolitan Park.
SPAIN
Situated on the Iberian Peninsula of Europe, Spain was also a cinematic location from all around the Western Europe with the 3 Body Problem series of cinematic landscape views. The diverse and beautiful city includes 17 autonomous regions with diverse geography and cultures.
TIBET, CHINA
Located on the high Tibetan Plateau on the Himalayan mountain range’s northern flank, Tibet is a Chinese autonomous territory. Because of its enormous summits, it is known as the “Roof of the World.” It was a suitable location for the movie due to its picturesque mountains, arid climate and harsh weather conditions.
