One must be surprised or more than shock if we said that the famous “Christian Dior”, a brand famous for high fashion accessories and looks was named in the chaotic rampage around World War Ⅱ. ‘The New Look’ is a biographical drama series that transports us back in time, around World War II, and goes deeply into the dramatized minutiae of fashion designer Christian Dior.

Under the direction of Todd. A. Kessler , Apple TV+’ series ,”The New Look” gives us a detailed look at the classic designs and garments developed by none other than Christian Dior in partnership with the House of Dior.
The New Look series name was given as a tribute to Dior’s very first modernized fashion trail which was also his debut collection, which included the “New Look.”
The New Look promoted ultra-femininity and opulence in women’s fashion, with rounded shoulders, a nipped waist, and very voluminous skirts. Christian Dior’s status as one of the most prominent couturiers of the twentieth century began in 1947.

Having the plot story set for the city Paris, the production team decided to have the luxurious brand having its biopic filmed in its home country Principal photography for the series began in Summer of 2022 and was finally wrapped up in December of the same year.
The New Look series was shot across many parts of the European country, France and the principal location was Paris.
Using French backdrops to recreate the WW2 era and highlight the development of major actors in the contemporary fashion business proved to be a rewarding experience for the entire season’s crew.

For the first half, the crew decided to include the iconic and original Dior house at 30 Avenue Montaigne to establish the courtier’s namesake empire in 1946. It is also the origin of the titular collection.
The shots set at the iconic location are filmed on-site and with a great detailed view of every character and place. The fashion house played a crucial role in fulfilling the expectations of the director.
Dior was born and raised in Normandy, France, and moved to Paris with his parents at the age of ten. After studying political science, he joined the military. His design career began in 1935, when he returned to Paris and started selling sketches. Robert Piguet, the designer, hired him in 1938.
Since then the renowned fashion acoustic courtnier brand has been continuing their legacy under the owner’s name who is counted as one of the most prominent designers in the fashion industry.
