“The Regime.” Written and directed under the direction of Will Tracy, the story shows the story of a strange authoritarian chancellor, Elena Vernham, of a modern European country, who confines herself in the palace walls leaving the country in despair.
Her mental health deteriorates and she becomes unstable, and unable to make any decisions regarding the country. Her mind traps herself in the spiral of Paranoia and her already unhealthy mental health made her to trust an off and erratic soldier Herbert Zubak. During her course she becomes more paranoid and Zubak’s chancellorship rises high with time.
Elena finally finds an odd confidant in Zubak, and the soldier’s concerns for Elena’s safety further erode the ruler’s already weakened mental state. Despite her populist rhetoric, Elena realizes and wakes up to the reality facing her fears and starts using an iron grip to suppress any opposition to her authority, which provokes both her cabinet and the countries around her.
A self-fulfilling prophecy is fueled by the ruler’s fear-driven acts as she starts to show signs of becoming an absolute dictator. The regime then starts to fall apart as the country starts to rebel against her.
