“The Idea of You.” Love can be unexpected in many ways. It’s never too late or too early to find the perfect match for yourself. Based on the ultimate kickstarter novel of Robinne Lee, “The Idea Of You” is a 2024 romantic comedy that portrays the life of Solene and Hayes.
Solene, who is a single mother in her 40s, takes her daughter Izzy at the Coachella music festival when her ex-husband bails on last minute. Izzy was furious as she had prepared a lot to go to the festival and Solene decided to take her.
Solène Marchand, a divorced gallery owner in Los Angeles, plans a solo camping trip with her ex-husband Daniel. They attend Coachella with their daughter Izzy, and they meet August Moon member Hayes Campbell. Despite their age difference, they become friends and Hayes dedicates a song to Solène.
After their first date, they meet in New York and decide to travel together on August Moon’s European tour. However, they become uncomfortable with their age and Hayes’s past relationships with older women.
Solène returns to Los Angeles, but news and paparazzi photos of their relationship are published online, attracting unwanted attention. Izzy forgives her mother and they rekindle their relationship, dating publicly.
Hayes proposes a reunion after five years, and they share a tearful reunion five years later. The story highlights the challenges faced by women of different ages and the importance of maintaining personal boundaries.
The Idea of You movie has many fun elements to watch and gives a fresh start to the new romance era.

The filming for the Anna Hatheway starrer underwent in October 2022 and continued for the next couple of months, before wrapping up in December of the same year.

The gorgeous city of Atlanta was the primary location which witnessed various key moments of the The Idea of You movie.
Atlanta, Georgia
Also known as the Hollywood of the South, it lies among the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the seat of Fulton country providing a major escape to the production team and giving scenic and charming locations to the moviemakers to film the saga.
Actually, Atlanta served as the recording location for even the Coachella sequences that are located in California. The team members reportedly worked for several weeks in the middle of an open field, building a set for Coachella.

In order to generate a crowd, hundreds of extras had to be added after the construction. filmmakers have used a tapestry of small-town sites as a unique canvas to lend depth and authenticity to their novel-based movie.
These settings provide the geographical and atmospheric components necessary for storytelling, resulting in relevant backdrops that link to the events.
Savannah, Georgia
The oldest city in Georgia, Savannah, is said to have served as the location for some of the filming of “The Idea of You.” The city, which is named after its river, has a variety of neighborhoods, some of which served as filming locations for the romance movie.

Some of the footage was also shot in Savannah and according to the reports the streets of East Bay were transformed into the set locations.
The The Idea of You film had its world premiere at South by Southwest as the closing-night film on March 16, 2024. It was released as a Prime Video original film on May 2, 2024.
