CINCINNATI, OHIO
Principal photography for the movie was carried out between December 10, 2021, and April 1, 2022. The vibrant city of Cincinnati was a major location for the movie due to its amazing landscapes and cinematic backgrounds.

Its Over-the-Rhine District is famous for its 19th-century architecture, Including Findlay Market with food and craft vendors marks it a unique and scenic city for the filming of the movie. The Cincinnati City Hall located at 801 Plum Street, houses the municipal government of Cincinnati and is featured prominently in the film.
The office of Shirley Chisholm seen in the movie, is actually the office of the Cincinnati Mayor, Aftab Pureval at the time. Actress Regina King was actually very thankful for the mayor who gave her the permission. Furthermore, during a meeting in the movie, one may observe Arnold’s Bar and Grill on 210 East 8th Street, which is well-known for its historic architecture.
A large number of the movie’s scenes were shot on Court Street in Cincinnati’s downtown, with the imposing Hamilton County Courthouse in the distance. It is the Capital of the USA and is a compact city on the banks of the Potomac River on the border of the states of Maryland and Virginia. White House, the Washington Monument, and the Supreme Court can be seen in varying scenes of the movie. In one scene where Shirley is capturing the heights with her grace and presence on the stairs of Capitol hill , from where her war to fight justice started.
NEW YORK CITY
Another wonderful location where the cameras of the movie were rolled was the awesome New York City. With a large and vast range of production houses and sets and home to many prominent movies, the location was a wonderful backdrop for the movie due to its cinematic shots and visuals which enhanced the movie.
Shirley was filmed in Jefferson Heights, New York, USA. The production house also utilizes Vassar College at 124 Raymond Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY, to shoot some film scenes.
