“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” an action science fiction film helmed by Wes Ball, is set three millennia after the events of “War for the Planet of the Apes.”
In the fourth chapter of the “Planet of the Apes” reboot series, a young ape named Noa embarks on an enlightening adventure with the help of a human woman named Mae. Together, they assess the past and make an effort to predict what lies ahead for both humans and apes.
After Caesar’s death, apes have established numerous clans, while humans have become feral. Noa, a chimpanzee, prepares for a coming of age ceremony by collecting eagle eggs. However, a human scavenger cracks his egg and a raider tribe of warlike apes follow Noa’s horse.
Noa wakes up to find his family and clan abducted, and he buries his father. He is joined by an orangutan named Raka, who shares Caesar’s teachings.
They encounter a group of feral humans, and Noa and Raka rescue Nova, who reveals her real name is Mae. The raiders take Noa’s clan to a beachfront settlement outside an old human vault.
Noa and Mae are captured and taken to the apes’ coastal camp. They are introduced to Proximus Caesar, who has enslaved Noa’s clan to access human technology. Proximus believes Noa knows how to open the vault and warns him that Mae has her own interests in mind.
Noa, Mae, Soona, and Anaya secretly plant explosives around the vault, leading to the discovery of a military bunker and a secret book.
Proximus and his tribe confront Noa, but Noa leads his clan in summoning eagles to attack him. Mae bids farewell to Noa, expressing her belief in peaceful coexistence between apes and humans.
