The dark comedy thriller series “Bodkin” centers on Gilbert Power, Dove, and Emmy, three podcasters who combine their love of mystery-solving and adventure to go on perilous missions to look into the disappearance of three strangers that happened in the picturesque Irish town of Bodkin 25 years ago.
But the group finds out there’s a lot more to the case than they thought when they fall down the rabbit hole. The drama boasts around the Irish Town of Bodkin, a fictional place casted specially for the series. The show honors Irish journalism and culture in a realistic and accurate manner.
The filming for the drama took place around the beautiful country of Ireland where the scenic towns such as West Cork, Dublin, Wicklow, and County Meath marked their presence in the scenic backdrops creating absolute bliss for the viewers. One must be curious in order to know the whereabouts of the series.
Bodkin (2024) Series Filming Locations
According to the reports the principal photography began in summer of 2022 and wrapped up after about six months, in November of the same year.
The primary location for the movie was chosen to be the coastal town which can be seen in the movie.
Cork Country, Ireland
The fictional town of the same name is modeled by the West Cork fishing community of Union Hall. Glandore village, Poulgorm Bridge in Ardagh, and Drumadoon Pier in Drumadoon are some of the other West Cork locales that are included in the program.

The area in and around Union Hall is filled with beaches, rivers, woodlands, lush greenery of the hills, and islands, creating a suitable canvas for ‘Bodkin.’ The lavish area space which the town provided helped in recreating scenic backdrops for the series.
Dublin, Ireland
Another primary location where the major portion of the movie was filmed was Dublin. The scenic atmosphere and the vigiland beauty marks a miraculous beauty for the shooting location for the movie.
The city is rich in cultural landmarks and vibrant Flora and Fauna, making it a beautiful tourist destination as well as a major backdrop for the Filming location. One can recognize Deer Park Golf’s ancient Howth Castle as the setting for several sequences.

In addition, the actors and crew pitched their tent at the Irish horse racing track, Leopardstown Racecourse, which is located in Leopardstown, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. Also the fishing village of Howth can also be seen in some backdrops.
The production crew visits numerous different Irish locales, including County Wicklow, to film more scenes for “Bodkin.” Many scenes were filmed at Knocksink, Enniskerry, at the Carnegie Library on Dublin Road, which was commandeered by the actors and crew.

Other locations in County Wicklow included Sally Gap, Travelahawk Beach on Corporation Lands in Wicklow, and Belmont Demesne on Lower Windgates in Templecarrig Lower, Greystones. Significant photos are also taken in and around Julianstown, County Meath, and Dave’s Diner on Dublin Road.
