“Academy Awards Ceremony.” Movies are perhaps the best medium for showcasing the power of narrative because they instantly immerse you in the fictional worlds of the characters you see on film.

Academy Awards Ceremony Filming Locations
The academy awards take place every year at the heart of Hollywood, Los Angeles.
The history of the theaters goes as far as 1929 where the first ever award ceremony was held with a total of 250 attendees at Blossom Ballroom of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It was then moved to the Ambassador and Biltmore hotels.
Other venues that followed are Graumanβs Chinese Theatre, Shrine Civic Auditorium, Marquis/Melrose Avenue Theater, RKO Pantages Theatre, NBC International Theatre, NBC Century Theatre, Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.Β
But since 2002, it has been placed in the same venue in the City of Angels, the Dolby Theatre, which was formerly the Kodak Theatre.
In the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, the United States, the Dolby Theatre (previously the Kodak Theatre) is a live performance venue located in the Ovation Hollywood retail center and entertainment complex, which is situated on Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

Ever since it opened on November 9, 2001, the Academy Awards ceremony has taken place there. On Hollywood Boulevard, it’s close to both the El Capitan Theatre and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
For the first time since the 32nd ceremony at the Pantages Theatre in 1960, the Academy Awards were held in Hollywood for the first time when they were held at the new theater for their 74th edition in 2002.
With the exception of the 93rd Academy Awards in 2021, which were rescheduled and relocated to Union Station because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has served as the location for all subsequent Academy Awards festivities.

The theater has gained recognition as a location for theatrical productions broadcast on television (such as American Idol and the Academy Awards). Leading Hollywood producers were engaged extensively by the design team, which resulted in a highly effective cable infrastructure that includes an underground cable bunker that runs beneath the theater and connects to truck spots on nearby streets.
Power is also considerable and available. The orchestra seating section of the theater features a special Rockwell-designed cockpit for stage management, sound, and cameras.

In a fashion reminiscent of Hollywood movie-making, the building is dressed before the Academy Awards ceremony, sometimes with a different sign on its façade, red drapery to hide its storefronts, and the famous red carpet running up its grand stairway.
