Directed by Alex Pillai, How to Date Billy Walsh follows the story of two childhood friends, Amelia and Archie, who enjoy their last year of school without inhibitions. Archie is secretly in love with his best friend, Amelia, and the two are considered bottom eaters in their school’s social order.
Amelia doesn’t know that Archie has feelings for her and unknowingly just thinks of him as her best friend. The two have shared an immensely satisfying bond since childhood and have been through every ups and downs. One day, they both decide to cherish their lives without any regrets and fixing all the other things that frustrate their lack of brave experience.
Amelia and Archie check off their bucket list and vow to confront their bullies, confess their crushes, and have fun. This gave Archie a golden opportunity to present his restless desires in front of Amelia, but heaven’s decision was against him. Just as Archie is about to reveal his affection for Amelia, she expresses her desire to pursue Billy Walsh, the most popular boy at their school.

The beautiful and cozy cottage formed a beautiful backdrop in the film. Many adjacent scenes also include visible landmarks of the city. Altrincham is another beautiful neighboring location that has been honed for filming.
The production team chose the destination for its vibrant and laid-back atmosphere with up-and-coming shops and a lively atmosphere. It is located approximately 8 miles south west of Manchester city centre.

The primary location for the How to Date Billy Walsh film was decided to be the convoluted location of Cheshire and York in the swinging city of England. The location serves the purpose of the How to Date Billy Walsh film perfectly. York is no stranger to film and television crews trying to make the most of its stunning scenery.

Many productions have used York to such an extent that you feel as if you have visited the area without realizing it. The production team took advantage of the spontaneous location of Ampleforth College, located near Ampleforth Abbey in the civil parish of Ampleforth. For the idea of cherry-picked teenage life and tender romance, this location was perfect for the How to Date Billy Walsh film.
The small parish, known for its rolling hills, beautiful natural spaces and peaceful atmosphere, served as an ideal setting to contrast the film’s turbulent events. Ampleforth College is a renowned boarding school set in the middle of a valley where the entire campus can be seen in the opening shots and aerial shots. The institution was founded on the grounds of the Benedictine Abbey of Ampleforth Abbey in 1802 as a boys’ school.
